Professional Development Days

This is a huge area of work which has taken us "beyond the school grounds".

The Resource caters for 26 pupils (11-17) at the school.  The post 16 service supports 45 students at college.  We also have a growing number of young adults in supported employment.  This work with employers is supported by a parent led charity.

We welcome visitors to The Resource and can offer a range of services to meet your requirements.

• Discussion/question session with Matthew Hesmondhalgh.  Teacher-in-charge/ Project Manager.
• Discussion session about Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE), and examination of our resources.
• Discussion about Life Skills education.
• Observation of pupils and support staff in the Resource and in mainstream lessons.
• Discussion about our work experience scheme and supported employment project (with the possibility of observing a work placement).
• Discussion of Post 16 support service at Sheffield College.

Lunch will be provided from the school canteen.

We can also arrange transport to and from the school if you are traveling to Sheffield by train.

We receive a large number of requests for visits each year.  It is for this reason that we have decided to place a small charge on these day or half day visits.

Autism Training Programme

We can offer training for your organisation in any of the following areas:

• Work Experience (for secondary school pupils)
• Supported Employment (young people aged 16+)

We can provide this training across the country and at any time to suit your needs. Our rates are very competitive and we can easily adapt our courses to suit your needs and situation.
