Resource Work
As part of her annual review Sinead wrote a personal statement. It is all her own work and it's a gem, totally deserving a place on this page.
Enjoy.
Personal Statement
Throughout my time at King Ecgbert School, I have shown that I am a reliable student with excellent attendance and good punctuality. I have received consistently high grades throughout my time at the school. I have nothing but the deepest respect for my teachers and tutors, who have helped me throughout my attendance at the school.I find Art an interesting subject, and it has enabled me to let my acclaimed creativity loose upon canvases and paper, leading to highly original work that makes much use of unusual elements. My attraction to the idea of learning another language has allowed me to enjoy German. I find German easier than other languages, as many of the words are similar to their English equivalent, unlike the more perplexing French. English is another subject I tend to excel in, especially for the coursework projects which enable me to take a more creative role, an example being creative writing, for which I received an A* grade. For my Design and Technology module, I am studying Graphics, which I find to my liking. I also entertain an interest in Biology.
For my work experience, I spent two weeks at the Moorfoot building in Sheffield city centre, which is part of the Department of Work and Pensions. In addition to office work, we were taken to Leicester, where we stayed overnight in a fine hotel with many colleagues, Leeds, where we became acquainted with the employees of a small design firm based in the city centre, and London, where we were introduced to additional DWP employees. I found it all to be a rather entertaining, if at times complicated experience.
During Year 7, I briefly attended a trampolining club, and in Years 7-10, I received extracurricular music tuition for the violin. I am not affiliated with any extracurricular activity at present, as I hope to concentrate more on work. Outside school, my hobbies include writing, informal art and informal songwriting. After I leave school, I hope to enter the music business to some extent in addition to my art and written work. I am currently undecided over whether I should apply for university after the age of 18.
In conclusion, I have found my education to be pleasing and challenging in equal doses, and I hope I can continue hard work within the walls of King Ecgbert for the next two years.
